History

The viewpoint is believed to have been named after a visit by a British royal, commonly associated with the title “Prince of Wales.” During the colonial period (when Zimbabwe was known as Southern Rhodesia), members of the British royal family and colonial officials often toured scenic and strategic locations. The dramatic views and elevated position of this site made it a notable stop, leading to its royal naming.
